It has been a while since my last post. I kind of lost the energy, due to various down times in life. But I have been sewing..! The satisfaction from finishing sewing or craft projects makes me happy.
Here are two tops I made for hubby in the past two months. The polo shirt is on my to-do list for longggg time and the burgundy cotton pique fabric has been waiting on my shelf almost one year! Because I’m afraid of the front placket… I tried do it on my kid’s shirt but didn’t quite figure out. Then I decided to try do like the long sleeve placket- I sewed them one straight line and folded in half to make it look like a polo placket. Somehow it looks alright….
I drafted the pattern from hubby’s favorite polo shirt. The new polo shirt fits him nicely. He’s been asking me to make a 2nd polo for him, which makes me really happy.
Besides the polo shirt, hubby needs a casual long sleeve shirt for work. I have this Simplicity 2741 pattern, did the view B with very light weight shirting fabric.
It is the casual stand collar- a little easier than the regular collar. But I think the collar is in general difficult for me. When I turn the collar to right side and stitch it close to the body pieces, the seams always sort of mess up. Sometimes better, sometimes worse. How do I make a clean and perfect seam?
